California-based video game director Brandon Sheffield used his breakup as inspiration for his comic strips, which reveal the reality and struggles of a breakup. After a two-year relationship ended in 2014, he felt that a “very specific person-sized hole" invaded his life. He chronicles the loneliness and awkwardness of accidentally thinking about a former lover and the nostalgia it brings.
